The $6.3 million project is the first completed project with Blueprint 2000 money, a sales-tax initiative approved by Leon County voters in 2000.
Maybe more importantly, the facility provides south-side residents with a state-of-the-art complex equipped with an air-conditioned gymnasium, a weight room and multipurpose rooms to be used for meetings, classes and teen activities.
This is the first comprehensive park on the south side with this many facilities. Former Tallahassee Mayor Jack McLean Jr. is expected to attend the dedication ceremony along with current Mayor John Marks and other city officials. News
