This project was a complete renovation to the seven - story classroom building. It provided all new infrastructure including
HVAC, fire sprinklers, ADA improvements, lighting, power, and
communication systems. The ground floor of the building’s
seven floor tower was completely remodeled into new classrooms
including a 100-seat tiered lecture hall. All classrooms were
wired for electronic instructional consoles and overhead
projectors. GRC provided the initial phasing and sequencing
for five construction phases requiring temporary faculty
office relocation into the Johnston Building. GRC also
provided space planning through user workshops. For the
duration of the project, the quantity of available classroom
space remained the same meaning that the Registrar’s Office
was not required to seek temporary space elsewhere. Exterior
hardscaping and landscaping was installed at the end of the
project and was sequenced to permit access between Bellamy and
Strozier Library
