Florida State University: Landis Hall

This project was a total interior and exterior remodeling and renovation that involved significant restoration aspects. The Project has been broken into two phases. Phase I will permit bidding of abatement and demolition ahead of the Phase II General Construction package to enable GRC and the CM to complete 100% CD’s based on discoveries made during the demolition phase. The team anticipates this will result in less change orders due to unforseen conditions. The building will reopen for student return in Summer 2006. The conventional dorm room configuration was eliminated in favor of a suite-style arrangement similar to those in Cawthon Hall. A total of 403 beds will be provided. The project involved code corrections and new infrastructure including HVAC, plumbing, fire sprinkler system, power, lighting, and finishes. The building will receive a complete exterior restoration and new tile roof.
